What is EZWatch IP?

The EZWatch IP service provides the ability for your camera server (DVR) and your remote viewing computer to connect to each other without a static IP address. The EZWatch Pro Video Surveillance Systems provide the ability to view multiple video surveillance cameras from a remote computer or laptop using an internet connection.

Do I have to use EZWatch IP to remotely view my cameras?

No, you are not required to use this service. However the system does require the DVR/Camera Server to have a static IP address for the remote viewing to work. In fact all DVR systems require a static IP address. Your internet service provider (ISP) can provide you a static IP but they usually charge more than the EZWatch IP service costs. If you are using broadband Cable internet you must use the EZWatch IP service because Cable providers do not have the ability to issue a permanent static IP address.

Do I have to have an EZWatch Pro Video Surveillance System to use the EZWatch IP service?

No, you do not have to have a EZWatch Pro Video Surveillance system to use the EZWatch IP service.

The EZWatch IP service works by simply supplying you with a custom domain name (i.e. yourname.ezwatchip.com where "yourname" is any name you wish to provide) that when you access, will send the visitor (whether it's you, or someone wanting to visit your domain address) to the computer that the EZWatch IP Update Client is installed on.

That means with the EZWatch IP service, your uses are endless. Remotely connect to your website, DVR, FTP, game, mail server or any other type of server from anywhere in the world.. by typing in your very easy to remember custom domain name! Never forget your IP address again!
